A Crawfish Flew Over the Moon on is a collection of poetry and personal narratives that highlight food traditions, community, and the bonds we form with our loved ones over shared meals. Written by 826 New Orleans former After School students, these young writers re-familarized themselves with the complexities of our senses through descriptive food writing. Students navigated new creative worlds and their own memories using their five senses as chaperones to understand the relationship between food and community.
